On November 16, 2024 (Saturday), Ambassador Lee Eun-yong hosted a welcome dinner at his residence for the National Assembly delegation attending the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29). The delegation included Representative Na Kyung-won (Head of the Delegation), and Representatives Han Jeong-ae and Park Ji-hye.
During the event, Representative Na explained the role of the National Assembly in implementing the Paris Agreement and mitigating climate change. She emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between the legislature, government, and civil society to overcome the climate crisis. Ambassador Lee expressed strong agreement with the essential role of the National Assembly in addressing the climate crisis and pledged continued support and attention to expanding cooperation between Korea and Azerbaijan in areas such as climate change response and the green energy industry.
The attendees engaged in a deep discussion on environmental issues, including solutions to reduce plastic waste and promote green growth, and committed to continuing their efforts to combat climate change.
