Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan

The Republic of Azerbaijan, located along the shores of the Caspian Sea and bordering the Caucasus Mountains, boasts stunning natural landscapes and Paleolithic-era relics that bear the footprint of ancient humankind.

Since then, Azerbaijan has served as a geographical key point, connecting Asia and Europe, as it was on the trails of the Silk Road. Today, its abundant natural resources enable Azerbaijan to function as a hub for logistics and transportation, further strengthening its role in the international community.

Korea and Azerbaijan have steadily developed their bilateral ties through mutual presidential visits and cooperation across a wide range of fields, since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992. In recent years, Azerbaijan has been striving to diversify its economy beyond the energy sector by embracing digital transformation, modernizing agriculture, and promoting tourism—offering numerous new opportunities for collaboration.

As increasing numbers of Korean nationals visit Azerbaijan due to their growing interest in the country, more and more Azerbaijanis are enjoying K-pop and learning the Korean language. This expansion of people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding greatly contribute to the development of friendly relations between our two countries.
