Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan

On December 24, 2024 (Tuesday), Ambassador Lee Eun-yong paid a courtesy call on Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan as part of his departure protocol.

Foreign Minister Bayramov praised Ambassador Lee for his contributions and efforts over the past three years, noting that the bilateral relations between South Korea and Azerbaijan have developed extensively in various areas such as politics, economy, culture, and education.

Ambassador Lee highlighted that he was able to host various cultural events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2022, and he remarked that the increased exchanges of high level officials and ordinary citizens, as well as enhanced economic cooperation, were particularly meaningful during his tenure.

Ambassador Lee and Foreign Minister Bayramov exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas, including political exchanges, expansion of investment and trade, in the field of education, including the the dual degree program between Inha University and Baku Engineering University, as well as cooperation on issues like climate change.
